Loving Female Dog Looking for Home

Anyone looking to add a loving soul into your home?

We found what we suspect is an abandoned pet near our area. It is very, very friendly and affectionate; can't imagine anyone heartless enough to abandon it! It is a big dog so is unable to stay in HDB flats.

Please contact me if anyone is willing to take her in, else she will be put down as had happened to another dog in the area previously! Very sad! Please ask around, and hopefully some kind soul will be able to provide a home for it.

Let us show some compassion and mercy for an innocent soul unable to help herself.

Sourdough Bread

Here's my adaptation of sourdough bread. Is it supposed to taste sour? It has a very crunchy crust and is very soft inside.

Jam Roll

I have read many baking theories that say egg is irreplacable. Well, instead of replicating the exact same taste provided by eggs, why don't we just use different ingredients and create new taste?

Here is my first attempt at an eggless roll. Although it is edible, will keep on improving! Any comments are very welcome!

Recipe:

100g flour + 2 tsp baking powder

1 medium banana

2 tbsp applesauce

30g sugar

Method:

1. Beat banana, applesauce and sugar together.

2. Sift in flour and baking powder; mix to get smooth batter.

3. Spread over a greased and lined baking tray (35cm x 25cm).

4. Bake 10-12mins at a preheated oven at 200C till well risen and firm.

5. Remove from oven, transfer the baked cake to a piece of greaseproof paper.

6. Roll the cake up tightly with the grease paper. Leave to cool.

7. Unroll, spread strawberry jam over cake. Re-roll again.

8. Cut to pieces.

Walnut Coffee Cake

I was feeling very frustated so I decided to get rid of the frustration by experimenting on cakes!

The outcome: walnut coffee cake! But I turned the temperature up at the last 10minutes of baking so the walnuts on top were a bit scorched (or crunchy!) and the insides a bit underbaked. Nonetheless it tasted delicious to me!

It contains yoghurt so it isnt vegan but you can easily substitute it with vegan margarine/veg oil or banana.

Ingredients (1)

300g self raising flour, sifted

100g walnuts, chopped

Ingredients (2)

125ml yoghurt

100ml applesauce

200ml rice milk

150g corn syrup

Mix together 1 tbsp coffee powder with 2 tbsps hot water, stir into Ingredients (2). Mix in Ingredients (1) into the above mixture and stir to mix well. Pour into oiled and lined 8inch cake and baked in preheated oven at 170 C for about 40mins.

Simple Mantou

Steamed buns are simple to make. I made these buns by using this recipe:

1 cup bread flour

1/2 cup whole wheat flour

1/2 cup lukewarm water

1 tsp instant yeast

1/2 teaspoon sugar

Mix the above together to get a smooth dough. Shape into a ball and place in a bowl, cover with cling wrap and leave to rise until double in size.

Once double, add in

1/2 cup pau flour

1tbsp vegan margarine

1 tbsp sugar

1/4 tsp salt

Knead to get soft dough, adding 2-4 tbsp water as needed. Roll up dough and cut into eight pieces. Place each roll on a piece of grease paper and leave to rise in warm place till doubled in size. Steam over high heat for 15 minutes.
